Watershed Collective
Brand identity and website for a Bay of Fundy conservation nonprofit. Built to earn trust from donors and inspire action.
Context
Watershed Collective needed a web presence that matched the weight of their work. Their existing site was outdated, hard to navigate, and failed to communicate the urgency and importance of tidal ecosystem conservation to a general audience. They needed something that worked equally well for first-time visitors and repeat donors.
Approach
We started by mapping the audience — donors, volunteers, and local landowners — and identified the key actions each group needed to take. From there, we structured the site around those outcomes rather than the organization's internal hierarchy. The visual direction draws from the landscape itself: the deep navy of the Fundy tidal flats, the light of early morning fog.
Solution
A five-page Astro site with a custom CMS integration for news and campaign updates. The homepage leads with impact numbers and a clear donation path. The about section tells the organization's origin story without being self-indulgent. The site loads in under one second on a 4G connection.
Outcome
Within three months of launch, online donations increased by 34% compared to the same period the prior year. Volunteer sign-up form completions doubled. The client has since used the site as the anchor for two successful grant applications.
